Phill has been a professional theatrical lighting designer since 2011. In that time he has lit dozens of productions from book musicals, TYA productions, concerts, dance, and parties.

He first developed a love for theatrical lighting while attending Elon University and spent countless hours experimenting with lighting in the school's black box theatre. Ultimately he became the in-house lighting designer at Bridgeport's Downtown Cabaret Theatre in 2011 and lit nearly every production until his departure in 2023

Phill is passionate about storytelling through lighting and firmly subscribes to the belief that lighting is meant to support the production and is not its own entity. He loves bold use of colors and textures to establish a tone and build an environment, but always in service of the show as a whole.
